The OTDR subsystem of the TN2000 optical cable monitoring system is an integrated optical fiber monitoring solution based on standardized 1U/2U/4U chassis. It integrates monitoring units such as SC, OTDR, OSW, OPD and LSU. The SC communicates with the monitoring center, the OTDR module detects fiber link loss and connection status, the OSW provides route switching for multiple fiber paths, and the OPD/LSU modules support optical power detection and light source functions for online monitoring workflows.

Optical Fiber Health Check

Monitored metrics include total fiber link loss, position and loss of fusion splices, position and loss of connectors or adapters, and position/loss of fibers subject to extrusion or bending.

The fiber health check can be performed automatically on a scheduled basis or manually.

It enables comparison of performance data over time, supporting timely detection and elimination of potential fiber performance issues.

Automatic Fiber Fault Localization and Notification

Provides 24/7 real-time monitoring of fiber status.

In the event of a fiber break, the monitoring software triggers audible and visual alarms, displays the fault location on the software map interface, and notifies relevant personnel by SMS and email.

Visual Fiber Resource Management via Map Interface

Enables full-coverage monitoring of optical cables across backbone, convergence and access layers.

Fiber routes, equipment rooms, ODFs and network elements can be displayed intuitively on the map.

When a fiber break occurs, the fault location is marked with distinct color coding.
